The Department of Bioregion is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded to advance bioregionalism: the practice of aligning human systems with the natural contours of place rather than with arbitrary borders. We are an institution and a fellowship at once. Our work is to extend shared infrastructure to the place-based projects and the bioregional organizations that hold them, so that more of the work can happen and less of it has to be reinvented.
